One of the heroes of the 2007 T20 World Cup Winning team India Robin Uthappa announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on Wednesday. He pinned emotional farewell post to announce his social media account.

Robin Uthappa wrote

“It has been my greatest honor to represent my country and my state, Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end, and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket.”

The 36-year-old also added a detailed farewell note which read,
“It’s been 20 years since I started playing professional cricket, and it has been the greatest honour to represent my country and state, Karnataka – a wonderful journey of ups and downs; one that has been fulfilling, rewarding, enjoyable and has allowed me to grow as a human being. However, all good things must come to an end and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket. While I will spend a significant time with my young family, I look forward to charting a new phase in life.”

36 year old Robin played last match in blue jersey on 2015. He played 46 ODI matches for India and made 934 runs with an average of 25.9. Coming to T20I, he played 13 matches for India and made 249 runs at an average of 24.9 and a strike rate of just 118. However, his true class can be understood by analyzing his IPL stats.

Uthappa has won two IPL trophies — one for KKR and one for CSK in 2014 and 2021 respectively.
